I'm back from D.C., finishing up at work, and my thoughts as always turn back to planning.
Next week we're meeting with Peggy to talk about the wedding cake (cupcakes? cake-cake? pie? all of the above?) and hopefully soon with the caterer to figure out food. Turns out we can't plan the layout of the event until we know how many tables and chairs and such we need for the food, and the music. We're happy to report that Mic Harrison and the High Score (friends of David's) will be rockin' out the party barn for the reception, so bring your dancin' shoes.
I need to have a working happy hour with my posse of local friends to help me think about decorations. Our colors (whatever that means) are yellows, blues, purples - Smoky mountain wildflower colors.
I'm hoping someone can coordinate games and activities for the kids and/or adults who like to play - boccie ball, croquet, bubbles, kites, volleyball, badminton...we have 60 acres and plenty of space for games if the weather's nice. Anyone got any games lying around?
