Just one more week! Some last minute details to share:
- You are welcome to arrive early to the wedding site (around 4 pm) to check in, drop off your flowers and/or hand-written note, and have your photo taken. There will be extra note cards on hand in case anyone forgets to bring the one enclosed in the invitation. Soft drinks will be available prior to the ceremony.
- Please consider bringing allergy medications (especially if you are allergic to bees/wasps), sunscreen, bug spray, flashlight/headlamp, rain gear (it's starting to sound like a hiking adventure, isn't it??), and earplugs (the band may be a bit loud).
- Keep an eye on the weather re: bringing rain gear. Ideally the ceremony will be outside, with the buffet reception done up family reunion/church picnic style. We have some tent/table seating available but mostly blankets & benches out on the grass. If it rains, we'll bring chairs into the barn and have a very cozy ceremony and reception..
- So...you may want to throw some blankets in the trunk, they may come in handy for picnicking. We're also hoping to end the evening around the bonfire.
- There's a petting zoo next door to Country Manor Acres at the Pioneer Cabins, and all 60 acres are open to our use until 10 pm Saturday night - feel free to bring outdoor games or other fun activities (kites, frisbees, etc.) There will also be a goody bag for the kids available after the ceremony.
- If anyone's interested in joining us on a hike Sunday afternoon, we may head to the Middle Prong Trail in the Smokies sometime after lunch. It's an easy to moderate hike along an old road bed next to a beautiful river, and we'll just hike for a bit until folks want to turn back.
- We have set up an account on http://weddingturtle.com for everyone to upload their photos after the wedding. Just do a search for our names. Or, upload your photos to Flickr or any other site that you already use and let us know how to find them. And if anyone happens to video tape portions of the weekend, please share that with us as well.
Can't wait to celebrate with you all! Keep thinking positive and happy weather thoughts...
Trena and David
